Ms. Love's 5 Natural Hair Tips =)

1. Moisture

Water is the best form of moisture, but water dries up… So be sure to seal the moisture! When purchasing setting creams/gels/butters, make sure that the first ingredient is water!

Bonus: If your hair is short of moisture, it will become very unruly. It is also more prone to split ends and breakage! Moisture is VERY important. Keep that hair moisturized!

2. Sulfate-Free Shampoo

Sulfate strips our hair of natural oils leaving it very dry and brittle. You want to use a moisturizing shampoo that will hydrate your scalp (and that is sulfate-free).

Bonus: Most natural/organic shampoos are sulfate-free.
It is okay to comb a coat of conditioner through your hair before shampooing.

3. Conditioner

Apply the most amount of conditioner to the ends of your hair, they’ve been on your head the longest, so they are the driest!

Bonus: Add your favorite oil to your conditioner (jojoba, coconut, olive).
Do not rinse conditioner out completely, leave a tad bit in your hair before styling.

4. Wash hair in shower

Washing your hair in the shower allows the hair to flow naturally to the back/down. This makes the hair more manageable when it’s time to detangle.

Bonus: Do not try to comb through your hair when it is not moisturized (with a conditioner/cream or water.

5. Read Labels/Ingredients

Avoid mineral oil and petrolatum oil. They suffocate the hair shaft/ clog the pores and lock moisture out.. Avoid parabens, sulfates, silicones and alcohol. (Ingredients are listed by volume).

Bonus: If your hair is healthy, you will not have to clip your ends often.
And as always, eat healthy, take vitamins, exercise, and drink plenty of water.

P.S Use a natural oil to seal your moisture. (ie shea butter, coconut, jojoba)

**Transitioning/Relaxed ladies, these tips are great for you as well!

Ms. Love

A bit about Ms. Love

Hair styling and products

I accomplished this style (braid out) with Carol's Daughter "Healthy Hair Butter" and "Shea Butter". I also used a bit of Chi-Silk Infusion.
